Second Opinion Consultation

This visit is for patients who have received a dental recommendation and want a clearer understanding of their oral health before moving forward. Our role is to evaluate your current condition independently, and to help you understand what is happening, why, and what options are appropriate in your situation.

Before your visit

If you have them, please share previous records, imaging, and treatment recommendations before your appointment. This lets Dr. Amin review your case in advance and understand the context of prior findings and proposed treatment plans.

Diagnostic review and records

We begin with a focused clinical evaluation, supported by updated diagnostic records when needed. This lets us assess your current oral health independently of prior findings.

Clinical re-evaluation

Dr. Amin performs a comprehensive reassessment across structural, functional, and biological systems to determine whether prior diagnoses align with current findings.

What we reassess

Every reassessment looks at three connected areas, considered together rather than in isolation.

Structural and biological assessment

We evaluate teeth, restorations, gums, and supporting bone to confirm the presence, extent, or progression of any disease such as decay, periodontal concerns, or structural damage.

Functional assessment

We examine how your bite, jaw, joints, and muscles are working, including digital jaw motion tracking when appropriate.

Clinical clarity

Findings from all evaluations are brought together to determine whether prior diagnoses align with current findings. In some cases, prior recommendations are confirmed. In others, alternative or more conservative approaches may be appropriate.

  • What is confirmed about your prior findings, and what may differ from what you were told before.
  • What is stable in your oral health, and what is progressing.
  • What treatment options are appropriate based on current evidence, including more conservative alternatives when applicable.
